The impact of hypoglycaemia on quality of life outcomes among adults with type 1 diabetes: A systematic review

Hypoglycaemia is a common barrier to optimal glycaemic management and often feared among adults with type 1 diabetes. The aim of this systematic review was summarize current evidence regarding the impact hypoglycaemia on quality life (QoL) related outcomes. Electronic searches MEDLINE, PsycINFO, CINAHL, Cochrane Database Systematic Reviews, Central Register Controlled Trials were conducted. Peer-reviewed empirical studies investigating relationship between QoL eligible for inclusion. Thirty met inclusion criteria. Extracted data summarized in narrative synthesis according Synthesis Without Meta-Analysis guidelines. None examined general QoL. There no association diabetes-specific four 30 studies.
